There are stores that open and close. And then there are stores that become a part of the neighborhood. Älva for Kids has been in Malasaña, in the heart of Madrid, for almost twenty years, accompanying families, babies who are now in school, and children who return with their own children to look for what they loved when they were little. Well, the latter hasn't happened yet, but we're waiting for it.
A store without (real) labels
At Älva, we don't organize clothes by boys and girls. We never have. Here, the focus is on color, design, quality — not gender. You'll find stripes, prints, bold pieces, and basics that work for any child, so no one has to go to the "wrong" section. Because it doesn't exist.
We are an inclusive store that respects all types of families. That's not a recent statement of intent: it's simply how we've always operated.
Clothes that last, clothes that travel
We choose brands and garments with durability in mind. Not just one season — several. A lot of the clothing we sell goes from sibling to sibling, from cousin to friend, from storage to a second life. That's also sustainability: it doesn't need to be on the label.
We work with brands like Mini Rodini, Compañía Fantástica Mini, and Mimi & Lula, who share the same philosophy: garments with character, made to last and with a smaller impact on the planet.

We strongly support Spanish brands. Because we believe in local fashion, in supporting designers from here, and in offering something different from what you find in any shopping mall. At Älva, there's always something you didn't expect to find.
Malasaña, since 2006
We are at Calle San Andrés, 17, in Malasaña — one of Madrid's most vibrant and creative neighborhoods. We've been here since 2006, when the neighborhood was already special and before everyone discovered it. If you're passing through the area, stop by.
